At the heart of Boston 3G’s mission is empowering grandchildren of Holocaust survivors to explore and share their families’ Holocaust experiences with students and community groups, fostering understanding and standing against hate and antisemitism.
Members of Boston 3G are available to speak in classrooms, synagogues, Holocaust remembrance events, and other venues. If you are a teacher, administrator, or event coordinator looking for a 3G speaker, we would be honored to share our grandparents’ stories of the Holocaust with you. Please email Boston3G@gmail.com to request a speaker.
Here's a sampling of some of the places we have shared our stories:
Public and Private Schools
Public Libraries
Universities
Yom HaShoah Commemorations
Synagogues
Churches
Events
We are always looking for more speakers to share their grandparents’ Holocaust stories! To help you get started and feel confident, we offer Living Links’ Renowned Speaker Training Program—but participation in the training is not required to present your story.
About the Training
Created by 3GNY in 2010, the Speaker Training Program is an educational course designed to equip you with the skills and tools to share your family’s Holocaust experiences with students and community groups. Participants receive guidance on storytelling, access to family research resources—including the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive—and ongoing support throughout and after the course.
Course Outline
The program consists of four, 2-hour virtual sessions:
Week 1: Meet fellow 3Gs, discuss goals for the training and speaking engagements, and watch an example 3G presentation.
Week 2: Share your presentation outline and receive feedback from peers and facilitators. Learn storytelling techniques and presentation style.
Week 3: Present a short section of your story and receive constructive feedback from peers and instructors.
Week 4: Deliver your full presentation, review story structure and performance, and discuss next steps for sharing your family’s story in classrooms, synagogues, or community events.
Whether or not you take the training, we welcome you to join our Speakers Bureau and share your family’s story.
